Frequently Asked Questions
What does the “ETR” in the name mean for me?
ETR means Extended Temperature Range. This cable can handle much higher ambient heat near furnaces or turbines without failing.
Can I use this 3.5m cable to replace a shorter one?
Yes, you can. The system calibrates based on total cable length from probe to monitor. Using a longer extension cable is generally fine, but avoid coiling excess tightly.
Why is the bend radius specification important?
Bending the cable too sharply can damage the internal shielding. This can cause signal noise or calibration errors. Always maintain at least a 1-inch curve.
My site has strong electrical interference. Is this cable shielded?
Yes. It is a triaxial cable with two layers of shielding. This provides excellent protection against common plant electrical noise.
Do I need special tools to attach the connector?
No special tools are needed. The connectors are designed for hand-tightening. Use a torque wrench if available, but do not exceed 5 in-lbf to avoid damage.
