Description
MTL3041: Safe and Accurate 4-20mA Isolator for Hazardous Areas
The MTL3041 provides a floating DC power supply for 2-wire 4-20mA transmitters in hazardous locations. It accurately repeats the signal to a safe-area load. With 17.5V output at 20mA, it powers most transmitters. Its floating design allows field cable earthing. It offers excellent isolation to prevent measurement errors.

Common Questions
- What is the maximum loop resistance?
It depends on your transmitter’s voltage need. Use the formula: (17.5V – transmitter voltage) x 50. - Can it measure 0-20mA signals?
Yes, the MTL3041 works with both 4-20mA and 0-20mA signal ranges. - How does it handle ground loops?
The floating design and high isolation prevent ground loop errors. - Is external power needed?
Yes, it requires a 20-35V DC power supply for operation. - What is the typical response time?
It takes about 60ms to settle within 10% of the final value after a signal change.
