The HIMA X-COM01 is a communication module for the HIMax system. It provides 4 RJ-45 ports and 1 D-Sub connector (9-pole). The module supports up to 6 different protocols. It runs safeethernet and standard fieldbus protocols. Each fieldbus interface uses a pluggable submodule (order separately). This module fits safety-critical industrial communication tasks. Each unit ships with a 12-month warranty.

Professional FAQ
- Do I need fieldbus submodules for the X-COM01 to work? Yes. The X-COM01 has no fieldbus protocol built-in. You must order submodules separately. One submodule per fieldbus interface.
- Can I run multiple protocols on the same fieldbus interface? No. Each fieldbus interface supports only one protocol. If you need two protocols, use both D-Sub ports with different submodules.
- What is safeethernet on the RJ-45 ports? safeethernet is HIMA’s safety communication protocol over standard Ethernet. It allows safety data exchange between HIMax controllers.
- Why is the operating temperature only 0°C to +60°C? The X-COM01 is designed for indoor control rooms. For colder environments, keep the cabinet heated above 0°C.
- Can I use standard CAT5 Ethernet cables with this module? Yes. Use CAT5 or better for 100BASE-Tx. Auto crossover works so straight or crossover cables both work fine.
