Description
MTL3081 Signal Isolator: Simple mV & Thermocouple Interface
The MTL3081 safely transfers small DC signals from hazardous areas. It takes readings from thermocouples or millivolt sources and passes an isolated signal to your safe-area equipment. It is very easy to use with no complex setup needed.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Q1: Do I need to calibrate this unit?
A1: No. Its wide input range means it works with common sensors without any calibration. - Q2: What does the ‘safety drive’ do?
A2: If your thermocouple breaks, it can automatically set the output high or low to alert your control system. - Q3: Can I use it with a pressure transmitter?
A3: Yes, if the transmitter provides a millivolt (mV) output signal. - Q4: How is this different from the MTL3073?
A4: The MTL3081 outputs a mV signal. The MTL3073 converts the sensor signal to a 4-20mA output. - Q5: Is external software needed?
A5: No. All settings are made using simple switches and links on the unit itself.
