The Triconex 3361 is a hybrid Analog Input/Digital Input Module. It gives you 32 total points in one module. Points 1 to 16 are digital inputs. Points 17 to 32 are analog inputs. Three isolated channels process all field data independently. The MPs vote the data before sending it to your control program.

Installation Guide

- What is the difference between Triconex 3361 and 3351?
The 3351 has 32 analog inputs only. The 3361 has 16 analog plus 16 digital inputs in one module. - Can I replace a faulty 3361 module while the system runs?
Yes. The hot-spare feature allows online replacement. No need to shut down the system. - What does the Fault LED mean on a 3361?
It means one of the three internal channels has a problem. The module still works correctly with one fault. - Do I need a special baseplate for the 3361?

Experience-Based Q&A
- Our digital input toggles faster than 20 times per second. Is that a problem?
Yes. The module may lose diagnostic coverage above 20 Hz. Slow down your signal or use a different module. - We see a Fault LED but all readings look fine. Should we replace the module now?
Not immediately. The module tolerates one fault. Schedule replacement during next planned shutdown. - Our analog input reads 4 mA but shows a small error. How accurate is the 3361?
The absolute error is 0.15% of full scale. At 20 mA full scale, error is ±0.03 mA. This is normal. - Can we mix 3361 modules with 3351 modules in the same chassis?
Yes, as long as your system firmware supports mixed I/O types. Check compatibility first. - Our digital input stays On even after the field switch opens. What is wrong?
Check if the input voltage drops below 5 VDC (Off region). Voltages between 6-14 VDC are undefined and may cause erratic readings.
