Expert FAQs

What is the main difference between 3300 XL and 3300 NSv probes?

3300 NSv Probes have a smaller M8 thread, lower resistance (4.2Ω), and are optimized for process compressors. XL probes typically have M10 or 3/8-24 threads and 7.5Ω resistance.

Why is the probe resistance lower (4.2Ω) than other models?

The NSv probe design uses a different coil. The 4.2Ω resistance is normal. It is electrically compatible with 3300 monitoring systems when properly calibrated.

Can I use this probe if my machine has an M10 thread?

No. This probe has a fixed M8x1 thread. You would need an adapter or should select an M10 probe. Browse our full range of 3300 NSv Proximity Probes for other options.

What does “FluidLoc cable” actually do?

The FluidLoc cable has a special internal seal. It stops oil or process liquid from traveling inside the cable jacket. This prevents leaks at the electrical connector.

Is the armor on this probe removable?

No. The stainless steel armor is permanently bonded to the probe case. It provides essential protection in high-vibration, high-risk environments.
