How This Module Works
- It interfaces with balance of plant devices like motor-operated valves.
- It controls boiler drum level and other plant operations.
- The module provides primary turbine trip protection.
- It works with the TRPA terminal board for signal connection.
- Mark VI and Mark VIe systems use this module in combined cycle power plants.
- Both DCS and turbine controls use this I/O pack.
Installation Guide
- Mount the I/O pack with the correct terminal board (IS200TRPAH1A for Mark VIe).
- Connect power supply at 28V DC (27.4 to 28.6 range).
- Wire voltage detection inputs (16 to 140V DC).
- Connect E-stop input (18 to 140V DC).
- Wire speed inputs (-15 to +15V DC).
- Connect contact outputs (24 to 28V DC, max 7A).
- Follow hazardous location guidelines if used in classified areas.
- Use only approved hardware combinations for safety.
Compatibility Notes
- Works with Mark VI and Mark VIe turbine control systems.
- Requires terminal board IS200TRPAH1A for Mark VIe.
- Also works with IS220PTURH1A (older version).
- For Mark VIeS, use YTUR series modules.
- Used in combined cycle power plants with DCS systems.

Professional FAQ
- What is the difference between IS220PTURH1A and IS220PTURH1B?
- The B version is a later sub-revision. Both work with the same terminal board. Check your system requirements before choosing.
- Can I use this module with Mark VIeS systems?
- No. Mark VIeS uses YTUR series modules (IS220YTURS1A or IS220YTURS1B). PTUR modules are for Mark VIe standard systems.
- Experience: My E-stop input is not responding. What should I check?
- Measure voltage at the input. It must be between 18 and 140V DC. Also check wiring to the TRPA terminal board.
- Experience: The module gets warm during operation. Is this normal?
- Yes. The module draws 0.41A at 28V. Ensure proper airflow around the I/O pack. Do not block ventilation.
- Buying guide: Do I need the terminal board IS200TRPAH1A?
- Yes. The I/O pack alone does not have connectors. You need the terminal board for wiring field devices. Order both together.
- Buying guide: Can I replace PTURH1A with PTURH1B?
- Yes. PTURH1B is backwards compatible. Test the system after replacement to confirm normal operation.
- Buying guide: What power supply do I need?
- You need a 28V DC supply with at least 0.5A capacity. Voltage must stay between 27.4 and 28.6V for proper operation.
- Is this module approved for hazardous locations?
- Yes. When used with terminal board IS200TRPAH1A, the combination is approved for hazardous locations. Follow installation rules.
