• 1. On live system, disconnect final element (prevents spurious trip).
• 2. Remove switched output but keep 120V AC supply connected.

• 4. If STATE becomes 4 or 5, varistor failed – replace FTA.
• 5. De-energize output, reconnect field wiring, verify STATE = 2.
