Professional FAQ
- What barcode tape works with OLM200-1009? Use SICK OLM barcode tape with 30 mm width. Do not use standard printed barcodes.
- Can I change the resolution after installation? Yes. Select 0.1 mm, 1 mm, 10 mm, or 100 mm via PROFINET parameters.
- What happens if the sensor loses the barcode tape? The digital output sends a “no barcode tape” error. Position data becomes invalid.
- Experience: My position jumps sometimes during operation. Check for dirt on the front window or barcode tape. Also verify reading distance is exactly 100 mm ±20 mm.
- Selection guide: OLM200-1009 or OLM100 series for short range? Pick OLM200-1009 for long range up to 10 km. Pick OLM100 for ranges under 1 km with lower cost.
