Quick Overview
The Triconex 3720 is a high-density TMR analog input module. It reads 64 single-ended voltage or current signals. The module updates all points in just 10 ms. You can choose 12-bit or 14-bit resolution. Each point is fully isolated from others. This design stops faults from spreading. The module works with Modicon Quantum systems using a Tricon chassis.

Q1: What is the main difference between Triconex 3720 and 3700 series?
A: The 3720 has 64 points (vs 32) and runs faster at 10 ms. It also has fully isolated points and programmable resolution.
Q2: Can I mix 0-5V and 0-20mA sensors on the same module?
A: Yes. Use a 250 Ω shunt resistor for each current loop. All other channels stay as voltage inputs.
Q3: The FIELD LED is on but the FAULT LED is off. What does this mean?
A: The module is healthy. The FIELD LED points to a wiring problem outside the module. Check your field cables and sensor connections.
Q4: How do I choose between 12-bit and 14-bit resolution?
A: Use 12 bits for faster response in safety loops. Use 14 bits for better accuracy in slow process measurements. You can change this setting online.
